Orientation is designed to welcome new students to the university and to provide them with the kind of information that will help them achieve success in their college careers. Orientation is required for all new freshmen and for transfer students with 12 or fewer hours. Once students have attended orientation and met with an advisor, they can register for classes. Dr. Kevin Ells, assistant professor of Communication Studies and recipient of a 2009 National Endowment for the Humanities grant to attend the NEH Summer Institute "A Fierce Green Fire: Aldo Leopold and the Roots of Environmental Ethics" will offer insights on environmental communication. The lecture is part of the AEH Cavanaugh Lecture Series. The lecture is free and open to the public.
