Part of the Cavanaugh Lecture Series. Dr. Nate Pritts books of poetry include Shrug, Sensation Spectacular, and Honorary Astronaut. With an MFA from Warren Wilson College and a PhD from UL Lafayette, Pritts edits the online journal H_NGM_N. He is an adjunct instructor of creative writing at LSUA and teaches gifted English, film and creative writing at Bolton High School.
Christopher Chambers, editor of the New Orleans Review and associate professor at Loyola Univeristy, reads from his novel-in-progress, Burning Tuscaloosa, for which he won a 2008 National Endowment of the Arts fellowship. The former bartender, carpenter, dockworker, martial arts instructor and lifeguard has an MFA from the University of Alabama where he edited the Black Warrior Review.

Campus Recognition Dinner [event]

The annual Campus Recognition Dinner will be held in the lobby area of the Evacuation Center just south of campus. The social will begin at 6:30 p.m. followed by dinner at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $6 each and may be purchased at Auxiliary Services. Contact Laurie Tanner at 473-6444 for details.
