Students Eager to Attend LSUA

by Sarah Black | Mar 20, 2018
Most students who are accepted into LSUA decide to attend.

U.S. News and World Report ranks LSUA as third in the nation when it comes to national liberal arts colleges with a high yield rate, coming in just behind the United States Military Academy and the United States Naval Academy.

Yield rates are the percentage of admitted students who elect to enroll. Universities strive for high yield rates because it reflects positively on a university’s popularity among applicants.

According to U.S. News and World Report, LSUA’s yield rate is 81.7 percent with 535 students enrolling in Fall 2016 out of the 655 who applied to the university. In contrast, West Point’s yield rate is 87.9 percent and the Naval Academy’s is 86.9 percent, according to the publication.

The average yield among national liberal arts universities is 26.6 percent for Fall 2016; the year is which the latest data is available.

“When students visit LSUA for a tour, they are immediately impressed with our quality of education, facilities, and student opportunities both inside the classroom and out,” says Shelly Gill, Dean of Enrollment Management. “LSUA is a university of choice and our office works tirelessly to make sure that we work one on one with each applicant throughout the admissions process.”
