LSUA continues to add new programs as the University grows.

As LSUA grows, the University continues to add new programs, the newest of which is World Religions.

The Bachelor of Arts in World Religions at LSUA is the only stand-alone Religious Studies program among public universities in Louisiana and offers students not only a chance to prepare for a wide variety of careers, but it can also lead to graduate school or ministry within religious institutions.

“We are excited to bring this new program to LSUA students. Employers seek graduates with critical thinking and people skills and the Bachelor of Arts in World Religions will successfully position LSUA students for employment or continued education following graduation,” said Dr. Holly Wilson, chair of the Department of Arts, English, and Humanities.

Students within the program develop skills necessary to interpret world religions by becoming familiar with sacred texts and rituals and how various religions have affected culture and history around the globe.

World Religion graduates go into a variety of fields including business, medicine, education, ministry, health care, and social services. Others may choose to attend graduate school or pursue professional studies in law, divinity, business, or health care.
